Mohammadreza Ferdowsi, also known as Hesam, was a 24-year-old law graduate from Qarchak, Varamin. He lost his life on November 9, 2022, during the 1401 (2022-2023) uprising in Iran. As an act of protest against the government, Mohammadreza set himself on fire in front of Qarchak mosque. He succumbed to severe burns and died on the same day. محمدرضا فردوسی، با نام مستعار حسام، جوان ۲۴ ساله و دانشآموخته حقوق اهل قرچک ورامین بود. او در تاریخ ۱۸ آبان ۱۴۰۱ (۹ نوامبر ۲۰۲۲) در جریان قیام ۱۴۰۱ ایران جان باخت. در اقدامی اعتراضی علیه حکومت، محمدرضا خود را در مقابل مسجد قرچک به آتش کشید. وی بر اثر شدت سوختگی در همان روز جان باخت. اولین سالگرد درگذشت او بر سر مزارش در قرچک برگزار شد، جایی که مردم برای یادبود و عزاداری او گرد هم آمدند. محمدرضا فردوسی به عنوان «مشعل فروزان قیام» که مسیر آزادی را روشن ساخت، یاد میشود.
